Come to Serve™ (“Come to Serve,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a Catholic-rooted community service platform that connects individuals, families, parishes, ministries, nonprofits, schools, and companies with people who need help and people willing to serve. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our website and services at cometoserve.com (the “Service”).
1. Information We Collect
Account information: When you create an account, we collect your name and email address so we can authenticate you and communicate about your activity.
Profile information: If you choose, you may add details such as your city, state, skills, service interests, and preferred service distance so we can match you with relevant opportunities.
Help request information: When you request help, you may share private contact and need details. We treat this information as private and never publish it. Only the Come to Serve review team and, after you accept an offer, the helper you connect with can see the details you choose to share.
Organization information: Organization representatives may publish public organization details (name, type, city, website, description) and manage volunteer opportunities and community needs.
Usage information: We collect basic technical information such as browser type and pages visited to keep the Service secure and improve the experience.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To authenticate your account and keep it secure.
- To match helpers with needs and opportunities that fit their skills and location.
- To facilitate safe connections and messaging between requesters and helpers.
- To review and moderate help requests for community safety.
- To send service-related notifications and important account updates.
- To operate, maintain, and improve the Service.
3. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as necessary to operate the Service:
- Public profiles: Organization information you publish is visible to the public.
- Connections: After a help offer is accepted, the requester and helper can see the contact details each party chooses to share within that connection.
- Service providers: Trusted providers that help us run authentication, payments, and communications, under appropriate data agreements.
- Legal obligations: When required by law or to protect the safety of our community.
4. Data Security
We use row-level security, encrypted authentication, and access controls to protect your information. Private help-request details are stored separately from public content and are never exposed through public pages, search, or matching.
5. Your Choices
You can edit your profile, update your skills and location, and manage your account settings at any time. You may close your account by contacting us. Public organization information you publish may remain visible until removed.
6. Children’s Privacy
Come to Serve is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Families are welcome to serve together under a parent or guardian’s account.
